Bottle Beach Koh Phangan
Sitting at the very northern tip of the island, Bottle Beach is one of Koh Phangan’s most well kept secrets. This almost pristine beach, which is largely natural, and seldom has more than a handful of visitors each day, is possibly the most beautiful beach to be found anywhere on Koh Phangan.
The reason for this beach maintaining such a relatively low usage is the fact it is incredibly difficult to reach by land. There is a dirt track which in dry try times can be navigated by motorcycle, scooter or on foot, although there is no way for a four wheel vehicle to access this area the island. The usual way that visitors travel to Bottle Beach is by renting a long tail boat to be used as a water taxi. These boats can be rented from most of the major beaches around the island, although the quickest trip would be from Chaloklam beach which is only a few kilometres away. These Long tail boats are fairly inexpensive to rent, although you may have to wait some time as they will usually not wish to take a single traveller, and will prefer to wait for the boat to fill up before they leave. Of course, you always have the option of hiring the entire boat to yourself at a slightly higher cost.
Although there is little in the way of amenities available in the area Bottle Beach there are a few bungalow resorts very close by, so food and refreshments available although it is recommended that you definitely take your own water with you just in case.
Bottle Beach is an excellent place to spend a day, the water laps the pristine sand is usually clear and clean, making it an ideal beach for snorkelling and swimming. This is one of the most if not the most remote beach on Koh Phangan, which also makes it possibly the cleanest and most tranquil.
