Video Transcript

For many travelers the journey to Koh Phangan begins at Bangkok's Hua Lampong Train Station. From Bangkok, Hua Lampong is easily accessed by the Bangkok Subway or MRT. The station is also reached by a metered taxi or of course a Tuk Tuk.

Hua Lampong's arched roof was built in 1890. Now the station is a comfortable travel port. Tickets are available at the station, but in peak season and during Thai holidays trains are often full. Most trains to the south of Thailand leave by night. Trains usually leave right on schedule so be sure to board in time. The night trains are safe and clean and even though they might not be as luxurious as you might experience in western countries, they are quite comfortable so you can expect a good night sleep on your travels. Sleeper seats are available in air conditioned and fan carriages.

Spend the night traveling through outer bangkok and down the Gulf of thailand and wake in the morning in Surat Thani province. Surat Thani is a small town in the south east of Thailand and is the gateway to Island such as Koh Phangan and Koh Samui.

After a short bus ride from Surat Thani you arrive at one of the piers and board a ferry to Koh Phangan. The ferry ride from Surat Thani Takes a few hours. And when you arrive your time in a tranquil tropical paradise begins. Stay tuned for more travel guides coming soon from Phangan.TV
